Transfers

Intake session for transfer students is CLOSED for the academic year 2023/24.

General rules for transfers from other universities are regulated by Resolution No. 39 of the Senate of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń of 30 April 2019 on rules of studies at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

Window for submitting transfer applications:

Due to the considerable number of transfer requests that we receive and the limited number of places that we can offer, the window for submitting applications will be open for a few days. Transfer applicants have to create their account in the IRK system and upload their documents.

Submitting transfer applications:
In order to apply for a transfer, you have to create our account in our online admission system – Internetowa Rejestracja Kandydatów (IRK) and upload your documents there: ONLINE ADMISSION SYSTEM

Transfer decision:
Transfer decisions are based on analysing the so-called curricular differences, that is differences between the curriculum (plan of study) at the applicant's current university and ours. The comparison is based on the documents provided by the applicant, particularly thier transcript of records, plan of study, and learning outcomes for a given study programme. If there are too many curricular differences, the applicant will be declined or offered to transfer to a lower year of study than the one applied to.

General transfer conditions:

  • The candidate has met all the requirements specified in the regulations of their current university;
  • The candidate holds an active status of a student at the moment of applying for a transfer;
  • A transfer is possible after the completion of a given academic year (there are no mid-year transfers);
  • A transfer is only possible between the same types of study programmes (e.g. Medicine -> Medicine, Nursing -> Nursing).
