Accreditations, affiliations and recognition


NCU Collegium Medicum accreditationsAs a European Union member state, Poland is a signatory of the Bologna declaration. This makes us part of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

As a member of EHEA, the university has adopted the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), whose aim is to facilitate student mobility between European higher education institutions through a common grading system unified across EHEA members.

Also, Collegium Medicum complies with the obligation to provide every graduate with a Diploma Supplement, standardised across EHEA countries according to specifications agreed by the European Commission, the Council of Europe and UNESCO.

The university holds accreditations of Polish institutions which in turn sign cooperation agreements with other countries concerning international recognition of accreditation decisions. Our programmes currently hold several accreditations issued by:

NCU Collegium Medicum accreditationsNCU Collegium Medicum is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. The World Directory was developed through a partnership between the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER). Listing in the World Directory does not denote accreditation, but it does mean that we are recognised as a medical school providing a complete program of instruction leading to a basic medical qualification (higher education diploma and the title of lekarz, equivalent to M.D.) and therefore permitting the holder to obtain a license to practice as a medical doctor.


Our university is also accredited by the Medical Council of Thailand (TMC).

NCU Collegium Medicum was listed by the Medical Council of India (MCI) as a recognised medical university until MCI dissolution in 2018. According to foreign diploma recognition conditions described by the Evaluation Division of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), our university meets all of the eligibility conditions for equivalence of foreign qualifications and degrees.

The Nicolaus Copernicus University, to which Collegium Medicum is affiliated, is a partner of the transnational YUFE alliance (Young Universities for the Future of Europe) initiated by the European Commission and forged to create the first true European University.
