The 6-year MD Program in English is offered by the Faculty of Medicine. It was launched in 2009 as the first full-degree program for international students and has been enjoying great popularity ever since.

The curriculum includes a broad range of subjects covering different medical specialties. The cross-section of disciplines prepares our doctors-to-be for professional practice and helps them choose their future specialization path. The curriculum also includes obligatory 4-week summer placements after years 1-5 in nursing, outpatient health care, family medicine, internal diseases, surgery, emergency medicine, gynecology and obstetrics, and pediatrics. The program begins with a non-obligatory preparatory course in biology, physics, chemistry and basics of Polish.

The programme includes such courses as: anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, surgery, internal medicine, pathophysiology, family medicine, anaesthesiology, pharmacology, toxicology, microbiology, transplantology, radiology, paediatrics, laboratory medicine, neurology, immunology, emergency medicine, gynaecology, ophthalmology, public health, parasitology, elements of nursing, and many others.

The 6-year MD program at Collegium Medicum follows the most recent advancements in science and allows for a thorough preparation of future doctors to professional practice. Graduates receive a university qualification certifying their skills in solving medical problems related to diagnosis and treatment in accordance with the fundamentals of contemporary knowledge based on scientific evidence, as well as knowledge in the scope of basic medical sciences, preventive health care, management and functioning of health care systems, patient rights and professional ethics.

The field of study of Medicine falls within the area of medical, health and sport sciences. The main objective of this field of study is comprehensive education and acquisition of practical skills related to disease diagnosis, patient treatment, preventive healthcare and health protection. The graduate is prepared to provide professional medical care. Many graduates become involved in research activity and contribute to the development of new medications and innovative treatment methods.

Graduates of the field of study of Medicine are entitled to undertake postgraduate internship, upon completion of which they are allowed to take the Final Medical Examination (LEK). They are allowed to further train in a medical specialty of their choice and apply for admission to postgraduate or doctoral studies. Graduates are prepared to carry out research projects and share their professional experience through publications and participation in scientific conferences. They can work as research and teaching employees in academic and clinical departments of medical universities. They can seek employment in hospitals, outpatient clinics or sanitary and epidemiological stations, as well as hold key positions in healthcare management.
