International Students’ Day 17.11.2025

We would like to warmly thank everyone who joined us to celebrate International Students’ Day. It was a truly joyful and heart-warming celebration.

During the ceremony, Vice-Rector for International Relations dr. hab. Magdalena Barwiołek, prof. UMK, Vice-Rector for Collegium Medicum prof. dr. hab. Dariusz Grzanka and Director of the Centre for Medical Education in English prof. dr. hab. Arkadiusz Jawień presented awards to students in five categories: best student of English Programmes with the highest GPA in the academic year 2024/2025, most active student organisations, sports achievements, engagement in the organisation of Multicultural Day, and a special category –  “Students you can count on”, granted by the staff of the Centre for Medical Education in English.

It was very moving to see the joy and surprise of the awarded students as they received this recognition.

After the awards, prof. Jawień delivered an inspiring lecture about our patron, entitled “The Man of Spirit – How Courage and Hard Work Earn a Place in History.” The official part of the programme continued with a beautiful artistic accent: Anna Hnatowicz gave a short concert, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere in the aula.

We then invited everyone to share a celebratory cake. The moment of cutting and serving the cake gave us a chance to talk, laugh and celebrate the day side by side with our students. Although we would have loved to continue this time together for longer, at 5:00 p.m. the students headed to specially prepared workshops at the Centre for Medical Simulation, designed just for them. We know that the participants were very satisfied with the workshops and found them both valuable and engaging.

Once again, we thank all students for their presence, enthusiasm and openness. Celebrating International Students’ Day with you was a great pleasure for us.

Tomorrow we will share photos from the workshops so that we can relive these moments together once more.
